01 Who we are
Skydatasol Real Estate is a trading name of Skydatasol Holdings Plc, a company registered in England and Wales with its registered office at 321–323 High Road, Chadwell Heath, London RM6 6AX.
We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy, which means we decide how and why it is used.
If you have any questions about this policy or how we handle your data, contact us at hello@skydatasol.com or write to us at our registered office.
02 The information we collect
Information you give us
- Enquiries and valuation requests: your name, email address, phone number, the postcode of your property, whether you are buying or selling, the property, development or plot you are interested in, and anything you write in your message.
- When you buy or sell through us: details of the property, your buying or selling position, your solicitor and lender or broker details, offers and the progress of the sale.
- Identity and anti-money laundering checks: proof of identity and address, date of birth, and information about the source of your funds or wealth. See our anti-money laundering notice.
- Correspondence: emails, calls and messages you exchange with us, including complaints.
Information collected automatically
- Security data: when you submit a form, your IP address is used to stop spam and abuse. We only store a one-way hashed (scrambled) version of it, for up to 24 hours, to apply rate limits.
- Bot protection: if enabled, Cloudflare Turnstile checks that a form is being submitted by a person. It processes technical information about your browser and device to do this.
- Server logs: our hosting providers keep short-lived technical logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) to keep the website secure and working.
We do not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. See our cookie policy.
Information from other people
We may receive information about you from the other party to a sale, solicitors and conveyancers, mortgage brokers, identity verification providers, and public sources such as HM Land Registry and Companies House.
03 How we use it and our lawful basis
Data protection law requires us to have a lawful basis for each way we use your information:
| Purpose | Lawful basis |

| Marketing your property and handling offers, negotiations and sale progression | Performance of our contract with you |
| Passing a buyer's offer and position to the seller (and keeping the buyer updated) | Our legitimate interests and those of our seller clients in reaching an agreed sale |
| Identity, anti-money laundering and sanctions checks, and keeping records of them | Legal obligation (Money Laundering Regulations 2017) |
| Sending you details of properties that match what you are looking for | Consent, or our legitimate interests where you have asked us to keep you informed. You can opt out at any time |
| Introducing you to a solicitor, mortgage broker or surveyor | Consent (we will only do this if you ask us to) |
| Keeping the website and forms secure and preventing spam and fraud | Our legitimate interests in protecting our business and users |
| Handling complaints and legal claims, and keeping business records | Legal obligation and our legitimate interests |
We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing, and we do not sell your personal data.
05 International transfers
Some of our service providers store or process data outside the UK, for example in the European Economic Area or the United States. Where this happens we make sure your data is protected by an adequacy decision (such as the UK–US data bridge), the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum, or another safeguard permitted by UK data protection law. Contact us for more information.
06 How long we keep it
| Information | How long |
|---|---|
| Enquiries and valuation requests that do not lead to an instruction | 2 years from our last contact with you |
| Sale and purchase files | 6 years from the end of the transaction |
| Identity and anti-money laundering records | 5 years from the end of the transaction or business relationship, as required by law |
| Complaints | 6 years from the date the complaint is closed |
| Hashed IP addresses used for rate limiting | Up to 24 hours |
We may keep information for longer where we need it for a legal claim or the law requires us to.
07 Keeping it secure
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your information. These include encryption in transit, access restricted to authorised staff with individual accounts, role-based permissions, and reputable service providers with strong security standards. No system is completely secure, but we work to protect your data and will tell you and the ICO about a breach where the law requires it.
08 Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- ask us to correct information that is wrong or incomplete
- ask us to delete your information
- ask us to restrict how we use your information
- object to us using your information on the basis of legitimate interests, and to direct marketing at any time
- ask for information you gave us to be transferred to you or another organisation
- withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on it
Some rights only apply in certain circumstances, and some do not override our legal obligations. For example, we must keep anti-money laundering records for 5 years. To use any of these rights, email hello@skydatasol.com. We will respond within one month, and there is normally no charge.
09 Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, please tell us first at hello@skydatasol.com so we can try to put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
